Rodgers Creek Vineyard is situated in the Sonoma Coast and composed of old, rocky volcanic soils, planted to Syrah Clones 470 and 877, with three rows of Viognier. This property lies in the western, cooler side of Sonoma Mountain and this certainly displays an influence ion the wine, as it offers slightly more traditional style, compared to its Cole Creek counterpart, which is a more flamboyant style. As this begins to open it releases aromas of blackberry and raspberries woven together with mesquite smoke, pepper, olive and sweet spices all coming together. On the palate this is richly textured and nicely balanced with notable concentration throughout. This should without question continue to evolve over the next decade and even beyond.
