The ‘Tres Vieilles Vignes’ is a high percentage of old vines Grenache, mostly 60-100+ years of age from the vineyards which are worked manually and naturally without pesticides ever being used. Prior to bottling the wines are aged for a minimum of 3½ to 4 years in concrete tanks and old foudre, then bottled without filtration. The 2014 is a simply gorgeous showing which is most impressive for its silky, elegant character. As this begins to open it releases lovely aromatics of savory notes along with, smoky mesquite and floral framed by cherries, plum. On the palate this possesses a beautiful seamless texture and remarkable balance throughout. This is already outstanding, and a Chateauneuf-du-Pape that is showing early maturity and ready to drink now. (Best 2016-2025) - December, 2016 (JD)
