The 2014 Château Maucoil delivers a wonderful mix of dark cherries and raspberries woven together with lavender, spices, smoke and a touch of black olive. On the palate it displays notable depth and concentration, with a lovely round, velvety texture and soft tannins resulting in gorgeous mouthfeel. Overall, this is an impressive showing, however it does need some bottle age, but should evolve beautifully over the next decade as it softens. (Best 2017-2029) - December, 2016 (JD)
