The 2014 Secrets de Pignan is wonderful showing in this vintage from La Bastide Saint Dominique. This outstanding 100% Grenache comes from Complex soils of sands and red clays in the Pignan area, and delivers aromas of ripe raspberries, dark plums, spices, lavender, chocolate and a savory characteristics, which all come together beautifully from the glass. The full body possesses a lovely round, velvety texture, which is well balanced as it finesses its way through the long finish. Overall, winemaker Eric Bonnet has crafted a fantastic wine, and although this is already extremely appealing, there looks to be an even brighter future, as this will evolve and gain further complexities with some bottle age.
