The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino from La Poderina is a sensations showing in this vintage. It slowly unwinds to aromas of red cherries and blackberries, which are layered with sweet spices, tarragon, fresh cut floral, leather, minerals and hints of toast all coming together beautifully in the glass. This full-bodied Brunello is beautifully structured and possesses remarkable depth and balance with a gorgeous velvety texture that leads into the long lingering finish. This is already outstanding, but allow it another year or to in bottle to all settle in. (Best 2018-2030) - February, 2017 (JD)
