The 2013 Margheria is a simply dazzling Barolo by Gianpaolo Pira from this cru in Serralunga. Gorgeous aromas fresh strawberries and cherries are woven together with exotic spices, floral, eucalyptus, orange rind, leather and crushed stones which all slowly begin to take shape in the glass of this fabulous wine . On the palate this expressive Barolo is remarkably well balanced and beautifully structured with a firm, yet silky and polished texture, which lingers effortlessly on the pretty finish. While this is already accessible and utterly captivating, it is ultimately a wine which will cellar beautifully for years to come. (Best 2019-2032) - May 2017 (JD)
