ORIN SWIFT Red Wine 'Abstract' 2015

The 2015 'Abstract' from Orin Swift is a seductive blend of Grenache, Syrah and Petite Sirah from Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Amador, and El Dorado Counties and was aged for ten months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak. The wine itself displays an inky color followed by aromatics reminiscent of pencil shavings, wild blackberry, black olive tapenade and milk chocolate. There is profound weight, structure and persistence on the palate, as the wine reveals rich flavors of dark berries, sweet tobacco, anise, crushed mint and chocolate fudge. Deep, layered and seductive, this wine will cellar beautifully for at least a decade, but it is completely impossible to resist right now. (Best 2017-2029) - July, 2017 (OB)
