WOODWARD CANYON Red Wine 'Charbonneau' 2013

The 2013 'Charbonneau' red is a blend of 67% Cabernet with 26% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot. The Petie Verdot was grown at the 750 feet of elevation of Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard in the western Walla Walla Valley, while the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were goown in the Charbonneau Vineyard, located in northwestern Walla Walla County, on a bench on the south side of and overlooking the Snake River. This wine opens with wonderful aromatics reminiscent of blackberry cobbler, black tea, mocha and black olives. The palate offers rich flavors of black cherry, black olive, sagebrush and milk chocolate. This is delicious, intense and layered with a long lingering finish. (Best 2017-2028) - July, 2017 (OB)
