The 2016 Sancerre from Domaine Le Montoire comes from clay and limestone soils near the commune Crezancy-En-Sancerre. As soon as the grapes are harvested, they are gently pressed and cold-stabilized immediately, followed by 5-8 months on fine lees. The wine itself instantly opens to mineral nuanced aromas, woven together with notes of kiwi and lime zest. The palate is fresh and clean, underlined by crushed stones and lemon zest, which continue to persist through the chalky finish. (Best 2017-2019) - September, 2017 (JD)
