The 2014 Rock Garden Syrah was aged for 18 months in 40% new French oak prior to bottling. It begins with intense aromatics of red cherry preserves, meat, orange rind as well as wild mushroom. The weight on the mid-palate is outstanding as this shows wonderful length and texture. Falvoers of red cherry, dill, red raspberry and orange zest lead to a long and lingering finish. Overall, this is a fantastic Syrah which should continue to age gracefully over the next decade. (Best 2017-2027) - October, 2017 (OB)
