This utterly compelling red is sourced from t small, 3-acre, Jumping Goat Vineyard which was planted in 1997 and is owned by Jim and Stephanie Gamble. The wine is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon with 15% Petit Verdot and 3% Merlot which spent 23 months in 80% new French oak Barrels. This left-bank inspired red displays an impressive inky color and begins with an intense aromas of crème de cassis, black cherry reduction, black tea, anise with a touch of black olive. Dense, deep and layered, the texture of this wine is simply fascinating as complex flavors of graphite, crème de cassis, anise, black olive and mocha flavors continue to layer the palate. The combination of power and elegance is simply remarkable in this captivating, ageworthy red. (Best 2017-2040) - October, 2017 (OB)
