The 2014 Château Haut-Bailly is absolutely sensational, as it opens to seductive aromatics of ripe blackberries and dark cherries woven together with damp earth, wet stones, roasted coffee and toasted nuances. This medium to full-bodied Pessac-Leognan is beautifully structured, displaying outstanding overall balance and depth though the long, mineral-laced finish. The combination of ripe fruit and minerality is simply stunning, making it one of the most compelling wines from the region. While this is already outstanding, I expect it will only become more interesting as it evolves. This should not be missed. (Best 2019-2033) - October, 2017 (JD)
