The 2014 Renaissance Cuvèe is a a fantastic showing and testament to the pedigree and quality of the Domaine. It begins with a lovely range of aromatics including black raspberries, dark plum, smoked meats, pepper, black olive, violets and spices all taking shape. On the palate this is beautifully textured, displaying excellent overall balance, depth and concentration which lead into the lingering finish. While this will require years of cellaring before it hits it stride, I expect this to evolve gracefully, as Clape’s wines have a tremendous track record and age remarkably well.
