A complex nose of brighter red fruits - cranberry and raspberry, sweet and earthy spices - cinnamon, black pepper, and clove, and dried herb notes of tea leaf and oregano. The attack is bright, sweet, fresh raspberry and spicy black pepper. Ample alcohol does not overpower but gives the flavors room to grow across the palate developing into black cherry and boysenberry. Vibrant and expressive with an acid lift and not a hint of “brooding.” One to drink and share. (Best 2017-2020) - November, 2017 (JH)
