ST. INNOCENT Pinot Noir, Justice Vineyard 2015

Located in an east-facing ridge in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, the Justice Vineyard benefits from the cooling influence of coastal winds blowing through the Van Duzer corridor. The de-stemmed grapes were fermented in a small Burgundy oak fermenter (no SO2) allowing the fermentation to proceed naturally. The wine was then aged in French oak barrels, 28% of which were new, for 16 months, without fining. This results in a beautiful Pinot Noir, which starts off with aromatics reminiscent of black truffle crudo, loganberry liquor and suggestions of bing cherry. The palate has wonderful tension as the wine reveals orange rind, red cherries candy and suggestions of pomegranate seed flavors which linger through the finish.
