Made by the winemaking team of Jorge Serôdio Borges and Sandra Tavares da Silva, the 2014 'Pintas' is sourced from 84 year old vines and was aged for 20 months in 30% new oak prior to bottling. Inky and brooding, this deep hued wine has aromatics of Turkish coffee, blackberry jam and coffee grounds. This possesses a wonderful sense of place and balance as flavors of crème de cassis, anise, milk chocolate and loganberry liquor connect with lovely tension. This is an outstanding age-worthy wine which should thrive in the cellar.
