The 2013 Montosoli is a simply gorgeous Brunello from one of the most historic estates in Montalcino. This fantastic Brunello begins with pretty aromas of wild berries, red plums and dried cherries which take shape around spices, orange zest and floral nuances. On the palate this is medium-bodied with a silky, refined texture, underlined by a subtle austerity. It remains beautifully focused and precise with outstanding balance through the finish. As always, Montosoli is a fabulous, age-worthy wine, however this will likely need a bit more time in bottle before it begins to hit its stride.
