The 2015 Château Grand Tayac is a fantastic showing, made by the incredibly talented Oenologist/Winemaker Eric Boissenot, who is known as "Bordeaux's Secret Weapon" because of his role in consulting for all four 1st Growths and about 200 other wineries in the Médoc. Grand Tayac is Boissenot's personl project, and is made out of his small winery in Margaux. The wine itself is absolutely sensational, as it slowly begins to unwind it begins to release alluring aromatics of fresh black cherries, blackberries, espresso, spring florals, graphite, tobacco and slight hint of sweet toasted oak. On the palate this classy red is medium-bodied with notable minerality at its core. It continues to displays wonderful overall structure and balance through the well-polished finish. Simply put, this is an excellent wine from one of the biggest talents in Bordeaux, however I expect it will take at least a few more years of bottle age before it begins to show its best stuff.
