The 2015 ‘Matthew’s Block’ Cabernet Sauvignon is another stellar release from Greg Melanson. This outstanding Cabernet is sourced from the Melanson Vineyard, which is planted to loamy soils, layered with volcanic rock, at an average elevation of 1,200 feet on Pritchard Hill. The wine itself is flat-out stunning, bursting with black cherries, dark currants, violets, mocha and spices. Full-bodied and voluptuous, this plush Cabernet shows excellent depth and concentration. It continues to impress with a gorgeous supple mouthfeel that persists through the long, mouth coating finish. Simply delicious now, yet should also hold up nicely in the cellar for at least a decade.
