The 2014 Savory Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a fantastic showing. Sourced from 1730 feet on Howell Mountain, this wine is composed of 97% Cabernet and 3% Cabernet Franc which were co-fermented. It opens with inviting aromatics of ripe dark cherries and blackberries woven together with violets, graphite and hints of mocha all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is well-structured, yet voluptuous with beautifully polished tannins that grip a firm hold on the long, layered finish. Overall, this a fantastic wine from Jeff Ames, which is excellent now, and should also have a fantastic future ahead.
