AU BON CLIMAT Pinot Noir 'Isabelle' 2014

Isabelle is wine that Jim Clendenen created for his daughter starting back in 1995. It is a blend from at least 6 top Pinot Noir vineyards across California, from the central to the northern part of the state. The objective is to choose the best wines from each barrel to make the blend. The wine itself offers an interesting and appealing nose, with sexy aromatics of strawberry, dark berry, eucalyptus, mesquite, savory herbs, leather and dried violet. The palate is soft and round backed by vibrant acidity that leads into the long finish. While this is drinking beautifully now, I expect it will also evolve nicely over the next decade.
