The 2017 White Stones Chardonnay is sourced from a single parcel (Block 1) in the Adrianna Vineyard which is covered with oval white stones. The wine is aged in for 12-16 months in French oak barrels and begins with gorgeous complex aromas of quince, citrus fruits, vanilla blossoms, orange zest, crushed stones and even some dusty spice notes which all develop in the glass. On the palate this possesses a richly textured mouthfeel, that is lifted by a fantastic combination of bright acidity and minerality that provides wonderful verve through the finish. The 'White Stones' is one of the most compelling examples of Chardonnay that I’ve tasted from Mendoza, it brings together an incredible combination of new world fruit with old world minerality, a combination which is rarely achieved. While this is utterly fascinating in its youth, it should also age brilliantly for at least a decade.
