Aged in French oak for 12 months prior to bottling, this wine shows the restrained and elegant side of Cabernet. This wine begins with aromatics of anise, pipe tobacco, cassis and blackberry. There are medium weight flavors of anise, cassis, green bell pepper, wild blackberry pie, and coffee grounds. The wine has really nice balance and structure, as this will cellar beautifully into the next decade. I can see this pairing exceedingly well with a juicy ribeye. (Best 2016-2026) - June, 2016 (OB)
