The 2012 ‘M’ is an outstanding blend from Montes, composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, which was sourced from the steepest slopes of the Apalta Vineyards. This spent 18 months in new French oak prior to bottling, and opens to fabulous aromatics reminiscent of dark fruits, wild blackberries, green bell pepper, sagebrush, green olive and suggestions of baking spices. This is full-bodied, layered and generous, yielding dark fruit flavors that connect with roasted figs and milk chocolate shavings, which build up to the the long, plush finish. Overall, this is simply delicious and already extremely appealing, yet possesses the potential to thrive in the cellar for many years to come. (Best 2017-2030) - September, 2017 (OB)
