After more than a decade in bottle the 2000 Château Pape Clément is showing absolutely fantastic and proving itself as a truly age worthy wine, as it is still showing plenty of youthful elegance. The aromas are absolutely gorgeous, with fresh blackberries and dark cherries woven together with tobacco, violets, roasted coffee and minerals. It is impressive for its overall structure, balance and finesse. The finish is beautifully layered and shows excellent length. There is certainly no need to rush into this, as it is capable of lasting for many years to come. A truly great Pape Clement that is built for the ages. (Best 2015-2030) - May, 2015 (JD)
