Roberdelle is translated to English as ‘The Route of Robbers’ and is more expressive and showy out of the gate than the Les Brouillards, but I love both for different reasons. This Volnay is remarkably complex and sexy and is a joy to experience. Ripe marionberry, wild blueberry, Asian spices, toasted brioche, incense, and a hint of brown mushroom powder all emerge from this stunner. It’s wonderfully seamless with no rough edges, with ripe, silky tannins, medium to full-bodied, and a great balance. It’s drinking well now and will cellar for another decade or more. Highly recommended.
