MAISON EVENSTAD Pinot Noir, Volnay ‘Premier Cru Les Brouillards’ 2018

Showing brilliantly right now, this classy Volnay reveals a gorgeous translucent medium ruby core with a silver rim. It started off a bit closed but with about 20 minutes of time in the glass, it reveals an exotic core of boysenberry, black raspberry, black tea, orange blossom, dried rosemary, and Chinese five-spice. It’s an approachable, gorgeous Volnay that reminds me a lot of their sister property Pinot Noirs from Oregon. The texture is silky smooth, medium to full-bodied on the palate, and delivers abundant acidity.
