This blend go 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc instantly opens with gorgeous aromas of blackberries, cherries, spices, mocha, smoke, tobacco and earth all take shape in the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied and well structured with notable depth and balance as it heads into the finish, which is laced with beautifully ripened dark fruits. The grapes were sourced from 20 different domains across the entire appellation from wines averaging 30-40 years in age and spent 15 months in French oak. The Fleur Quercus is quite a nice surprise in this vintage and is showing remarkably well right now. (Best 2016-2020) - May, 2016 (JD)
