The 2012 Château le Loup is a fresh and inviting Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, composed of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc. This elegant wine opens up with pretty aromas of ripe blackberries and cherries followed by spices, spring floral and just a hint of licorice. On the palate this is medium to full-bodied and well structured with lovely balance and finesse. The silky texture carries over beautifully on to the refined finish. A fine effort from this small Château on the Northern slopes of Saint-Émilion. (Best 2016-2023) - May, 2016 (JD)
