The 2014 Chateau Gruaud Larose is an extremely compelling effort in this vintage. The blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot opens to inviting aromas of cherries and blackberries woven together with spices and cigar box. Medium-bodied, balanced and focused this impresses for its lovely texture and classy Saint-Julien style. Overall this is a fantastic showing, which will evolve beautifully over the next few years and also has the potential to endure well over a decade of bottle age. (Best 2020-2032) - June, 2017 (JD)
