The 2021 Domaine la Soumade Gigondas is a lovely showing. It instantly bursts open with aromas of black berries and dark cherries followed by nuances of black pepper, iron, spices, lavender, and hints of minerals. On the palate this is medium-bodied with soft tannins and displays nice balance through the finish, where it leaves a lovely trace of ripe red fruits pepper. A very solid effort in this vintage, but allow this another year or so to flesh out. .
