The 2016 Château de Janicon is absolutely outstanding in this vintage. It begins to impress with its fresh inviting aromatics of ripe blackberries and blueberries, which are laced with tobacco, spices, toast and a lovely mineral character. The medium-plus body shows wonderful depth, backed by a juicy core that comes to an end with a long supple finish which leaves behind flavors of sweet blackberries, spices and tobacco lingering. This is drinking fantastic today, but should also offer a drinking window that spans a decade.
