CHÂTEAU GRAND TAYAC Margaux 2014

Château Grand Tayac is a small production Margaux run by the hands of ultra-talented winemaker Eric Boissenot, who is the consultant at all the Médoc First Growths and a majority of the other 1855 classified estates. The 2014 Grand Tayac is absolutely sensational, as it instantly opens to inviting aromas of blackberries and sweet cassis woven together with roasted coffee, tobacco, spices and spring florals all taking shape in this alluring red. On the palate this is medium to full-bodied, displaying wonderful elegance and finesse, as the tannins are beautifully integrated, resulting in a gorgeous seamless texture and an inner core of sweet red fruits, which expands on to the finish. This is already showing remarkably well and I expect it to continue to do so for years to come. While production is highly limited, readers interested in experiencing the talents behind many of Bordeaux’s Grand Châteaux at the slightest fraction of the cost should not miss out on this outstanding wine from Grand Tayac.
