The 2005 Château Rauzan-Ségla is a total beauty from this vintage. This fantastic Margaux instantly begins to impress as it bursts open with inviting aromatics of blackberries and dark cherries woven together with smoked meat, spring florals, exotic spices and hits of roasted coffee all soaring from the glass. On the palate this is medium-plus bodied and beautifully structured, with lovely underlying acidity balancing it out. It continues to impress with its gorgeous sleek texture and as it heads into to long , graceful finish. While this is drinking simply sensational now, it also possesses the ability to age another decade.
