CHÂTEAU DU MOULIN Haut-Médoc 2011

Château du Moulin is a small project from José Sanfins, who happens to be the director at Château Cantenac Brown. This allows José to access the equipment and techniques from a large Château, which he puts to good use in this wine. José is also close friends with Eric Boissenot, who is often on hand to assist with the winemaking, so it is no coincidence these wines seem to keep improving with every vintage. The 2012 is composed of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot and offer aromas and flavors of ripe dark fruits, sweet spices, vanilla, licorice and fresh minerals. It is notable for its plush texture, balance and long, expressive finish. This wine already shows plenty of wonderful characteristics, however it will certainly benefit from a few more years of bottle age. (Best 2016-2025) - May, 2015 (JD)
