This inky cored wine is a compelling blend of 50% Grenache, 25% Syrah with 25% Carignan. The aromas are highly complex showing smoke, Provençal herbs, black cherry and anise. The palate is plush, showing concentrated flavors of graphite, blood orange, wild blackberry pie and Hoisin sauce. The minerality is lovely, as is the wine's purity. This Côtes du Rhône Village will drink beautifully over the next handful of years. (Best 2017-2024) - August, 2017 (OB)
