The 2018 Château Mouton Rothschild It instantly begins with incredibly seductive aromatics of ripe black currants, fresh blackberries and blueberries, which are beautifully woven together with exotic spices, violets, tobacco, charcoal and earthy mineral accents that all come together and burst from the glass. On the palate this is every bit as stunning, full-bodied, intense and concentrated, yet displaying remarkable balance and poise. It continues to impress with its wonderful layered mouthfeel giving way to flavors of ripe dark fruits, exotic spices and violets which all continue to build and expand seamlessly through the long, opulent finish. THis is already showing tremendous, but also should offer a drinking window that spans at least three decades.
