The 2009 'Les Picasses' is an incredible Chinon and it’s almost impossible to believe it is not double the release price. This brings wonderful rustic aromas of blackberry, plum, bell pepper, earth, spices and tobacco which all just come together beautifully. This is medium to full-bodied, well rounded and shows terrific focus and depth of flavors on the palate. Overall, a spectacular Cabernet Franc and avid fans of Chinon need no further information about the pedigree of this Domaine. However, those not that familiar or looking to try a Chinon for the first time are in for a treat with this fantastic wine. (Best 2014-2026) - May, 2014 (JD)
