The 2011 Thélème comes from Cabernet Franc vines, which dig their own roots deep into chalky and limestone soils. It offers terroir driven aromas of dark fruit, leather, earth, cherry tobacco, pepper, hints of vanilla, forrest floor and spring flowers. It has incredible structure, with firm tannins and a long finish. You may be able to get away with approaching this now with a few hours of decanting, but ultimately this will require additional botte age. (Best 2019-2030) - June, 2014 (MD)
