The 2015 Sancerre 'Les Belles Cotes' comes from two parcels, one is pebbly caillottes which offer drainage forcing the vines roots to dig deep into the soils, the other is a mix of clay and limestone, which contribute minerality to the wine. These soils types reflect beautifully in this wine as it delivers expressive aromas of fresh citrus peel, lychee, spring flowers and wet stones soar from the glass. It has a lovely texture backed by bright acidity which leads into the vibrant finish. This is a gorgeous Sancerre which is drinking exceptionally well right now. (Best 2016-2019) - July, 2016 (JD)
