2015 TOP 100 WINES | Rank #90
The 2012 ‘Toussaints’ is a lovely effort from Geoffroy Choppin de Janvry and his team, who source this Pinot Noir from Premier Cru vineyards composed of 45-year-old vines planted to limestone and clay soils. The wine itself opens with aromas of blackberries and cherries along with scorched earth, smoke, white pepper and spices that resonate through the wine. On the palate this is beautifully balanced and structured around gorgeous fine, silky tannins, backed by wonderful acidity that makes for a sensational mouthfeel which carries on all the way through the bright finish. Today, this is already very appealing and delightful to taste, it should also evolve nicely for another decade. (Best 2016-2026) - July, 2015 (JD)
