The 2011 Côte Rôtie 'Reserve' comes from 40-year-old vines and is a blend of approximately 15 parcels located in Côte Brune (70%) and Côte Blonde (30%). The wine itself displays aromas of black raspberries and plum woven together with pepper, spices, savory herbs, meat, smoke and a touch of violet. It impresses with its beautiful balance and finesse, as well as a gorgeous velvety texture. This shows wonderful elegance and lovely fresh character that carries on throughout the wine. Overall, an excellent Côte Rôtie from on of the top producers in the region, but today this is still showing youthful characteristics and will need time to evolve. (2018-2032) - August, 2015 (JD)
