I loved the 2019 Trothe Cabernet Sauvignon with its shimmering deep purple core and a bright pink rim. It opens slowly in the glass with candied blue plum, blackberry coulis, and toasted allspice aromas singing. It’s structured yet refined on the palate, with additional aspects of dried apple skin, black licorice, and high-desert sage hitting the back of the tongue. Finally, sweet grippy tannins hold your attention while the spicy finish has you dreaming for more.
