The 2011 is a textbook Saint-Joseph from brothers Jean and Pierre Gonon, which is still quite youthful and energetic. Gorgeous aromas of wild red berries and black raspberries woven together with pepper, spices, smoke, and violets all come together and soar from the glass. Balanced and remarkably focused with a lovely vibrant core which remains fresh from its underlying acidity as it heads into the the long finish. While this is already throughly impressive, there is an even brighter future for this outstanding Saint-Joseph. (Best 2017-2030) - May, 2017 (JD)
