The 2013 Domaine la Soumade ‘Cuvée Prestige’ offers wonderful aromas of blackberries and black raspberries layered together with spices, pepper, licorice and dried violets which all resonate through the wine. This well structured Rasteau expands beautifully across the palate and is nicely balanced by a lovely touch of underlying acidity which keeps it fresh and inviting through the long lingering finish. This is already quite appealing but it should only become more accessible as it continues to evolve over the next few years. (Best 2018-2026) - March, 2016 (JD)
