The 2012 Château Violette Moulis-en-Médoc is composed of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Merlot. This displays an impressive dark, inky color, followed by inviting aromatics of ripe blackberries and dark cherries, laced with sweet spices, toast and hints of tobacco notes. On the palate it possesses a full body with a round, velvety texture and nicely polished frame. This continues to impress as it demonstrates excellent balance and depth with flavors of dark cherries, spices and mineral notes lingering on the finish. I expect this to continue to evolve with some short-term cellaring, however the soft, plush texture make this extreamly appealing right now. (Best 2017-2023) - February, 2017 (JD)
