The 2017 'Secrets de Pignan' is an absolutely stunning wine from Eric Bonnet. Composed of 100% Grenache sourced from just over 1-hectare of vines in the sands and red clays in the Pignan area which were planted in 1920. Showing a much darker profile than Bonnet's other reds, this beings with incredible aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries and black plums which are laced with spice cakes, lavender, licorice and lovely mineral nuances all bursting from the glass. On the palate this displays wonderful full-bodied richness with an incredible round, seamless texture. It goes on to display remarkable concentration, balance and finesse as layers of ripe dark fruits and sweet plums move gracefully through the finish. This is a total beauty and while it is already showing outstanding, there is no doubt this will go on to have a brilliant future ahead.
