The 2013 Château de Beaucastel is a wonderful effort in this vintage, offering captivating aromas of blackberries and black raspberries layered together with spices, pepper, smoke and dried violets which all resonate through the wine. This well structured and expands beautifully across the palate. It continues to impress with notable depth as it heads into the long lingering finish, which is laced with dark fruits and spice notes. Although this already shows plenty of appealing characteristics, it will ultimately become even more expressive as it continues to develop in bottle over the next few years.
