The 2014 'Réserve Auguste Favier' is composed of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault and 5% Mourvèdre. It slowly opens to aromas and flavors of ripe black raspberries and roasted plums, which are woven together with spices, white pepper, floral, roasted herbs and hnits of licorice. On this palate this possesses a velvety texture with beautiful balance and seamless quality which as it heads into the long finish. While this is already quite appealing, I expect it to show even better with some short-term cellaring and continue to age gracefully over the course of the next decade.
