The 2015 ‘Grand Vin’ Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Clos Saint Michel is a fantastic showing which is composed of a 50/50 blend of the best Grenache and Syrah from the estate. It begins with seductive aromas of black raspberries and dark plums, woven together with smoked meats, spices and roasted herbs, which all come together and soar from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied with remarkable depth and concentration. It continues to impress with generous layers of juicy red and dark fruits, which combine with exotic spices and smoky mesquite flavors that persist through the incredibly long finish. This is already showing remarkably well, but also will have a fabulous future ahead.
